"I engaged Brian in December to build a 20x24 shop on my property to house my motorcycles. I had done quite a bit of research on the web about getting this done and realized just how many pitfalls and expenses can occur when taking care of it, and how making a bad decision can lead to a significant amount of extra costs.
I called Brian through a referral from a friend, and he made the trip, 60 miles away from his office, within a couple of days for a pre-arranged meeting. He laid out all the details, told me what additions made sense and which were extras or could possibly be done by a subcontractor for a reduced rate. We agreed upon a price and I left a deposit, hoping to get a slab poured before the ground froze and winter hit us with full force.
As an aside, Brian has prepared all the Permits and paperwork information. All I had to do was turn it in to the local office and pay the fee. Super easy.
Well, getting the permits took a little longer through absolutely no fault of the company, but just getting our local inspector's hours coordinated with my own, and winter hit us with full force. Brian remained cool, and we put off the process for a few weeks until we could get the slab poured on the second week of March.
I'm now looking out my window at my awesome barn, and seriously couldn't be happier. It is exactly what I wanted, and today I plan to sweep it out, level the ground around it from the displaced dirt from the slab, and plan the electrical.
